Yu-Kun Hsiang Violin II -
Yu-Kun Hsiang is from Taiwan and began playing violin at five. He won many competitions and has given several solo, chamber, orchestra concerts in major concert halls in Taiwan. He also participated a lot of music festivals around the world, such as Pacific Music Festival, Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, Saito Kenin Music Festival, Tibor Varga Music Festival, Taipei Music Academy Festival, Green Mountain Festival and Seiji Ozawa International Chamber Music Festival in Okushiga.
In 2015-2019, Yu-Kun served concertmaster in Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Orchestra and worked with Seiji Ozawa in Japan.
Now, Yu-Kun is admitted to candidacy for DMA degree from University of Cincinnati under the tutelage of Strings department chair, Won-Bin Yim. Yu-Kun also holds a position of the Assistant Principal of Second Violin in Richmond Symphony Orchestra and is a violin section member of Civic Orchestra of Chicago,substitute musician of Columbus Symphony Orchestra and New World Symphony.
Recently, Yu-Kun has trained frequently by the concertmaster of Metropolitan Opera, David Chan, the concertmaster of New York Philharmonic, Frank Huang and the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, David Kim.
